We believe that there is one God who is infinite, eternal, almighty, unchanging, and perfect in holiness, truth, and love. He exists in three co-existent, co-equal, and co-eternal Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three Persons are indivisibly God, all existing in, and sharing perfect divinity.

God the Father created all things in heaven and earth out of nothing and also sustains all things by His own power. He is the planner of our redemption through His Son, Jesus Christ, for the purpose of restoring us from our fallen state to fellowship with Him.

Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, the eternal Word of God made flesh, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He is truly God and truly man. He is the only way for sinful man to be reconciled to God, as He is the only Savior from sin. He is seated at the right hand of God, reigning as the ascended Lord over all and interceding for His people, the church, of whom He is the Head. He will one day return again.

The Holy Spirit is present in the world to convict men of sin, make them aware of their need for a Savior, and to draw them to God. He enables faith in Christ, bringing about the new birth and filling believers with the presence of the Triune God. The Spirit unites all believers, both to one another and to the Head of the body, Jesus Christ. He works in the lives of Christians to bring about our sanctification by quickening our conscience, enabling us to understand spiritual truths, and giving us the power to obey God.

The church exists as two realities: the universal church, being the unity shared by all believers across the world and through all time; and the local church, which is the unified body of believers who meet together regularly to worship, pray, serve, disciple, and observe the two ordinances given by Christ.

The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. It originates from God, given to men by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It contains all that is necessary to make man wise unto salvation and stands as the final authority in regard to Christian doctrine, practice, and life.

The Gospel is the good news that God has sent His Son to reconcile to Himself those who, in faith, repent and believe. Jesus lived a life of perfect obedience to the Father, a life which we cannot live, and then willingly went to the cross to suffer a horrific death in our place, serving as our substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, bearing the full wrath of God. Those who repent of their sins and place their faith in Jesus alone receive salvation – the complete forgiveness of sins, the special presence of God in their lives, and eternal life, which begins at the moment of belief.

Humanity is God’s chief creation, made in His own image. God created humanity in two genders, male and female. Though originally created good, humankind was tempted by Satan and fell into sin, choosing to rebel against God, a curse which persists to all humans and results in physical and spiritual death. This depravity creates a separation between humanity and God, which cannot be overcome without God’s grace. Sin is pervasive in its reach, affecting the mind, will, and affections.

The family is the core unit of the church, consisting of one man and one woman joined in the covenant of marriage, as well as any children that the Lord has given them through birth or adoption. The family serves as a picture of the church, as the husband selflessly leads, loves, and serves his wife just as Christ selflessly leads, loves, and serves the church, and as the wife submits to and serves her husband just as the church submits to and serves Christ.

The first ordinance given by Jesus is baptism, which is reserved for professing Christians to observe once as an act of obedince and public testimony. Baptism is the immersing in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Baptism is a symbolic act of death to sin, the flesh, and the world and resurrection with Christ, but does not have any salvific merit.

The second ordinance is the Lord’s Supper, which should only be observed by professing Christians. This ordinance is a symbolic remembrance of the Lord’s costly sacrifice on the cross: the breaking of the bread represents His body being broken, while the fruit of the vine represents the shedding of His blood. It is also a meal of expectation, as we wait for the fulfillment of all that has been promised to those who are in Christ.
